 What I Read

This month I was only able to read 6 books, but HOLY CRAP did I read a lot of #puppygate! (Yes, I blame you for this, File 770 😛 ) Is there anyways I can add this to Goodreads? XD

I’m voting this year, so I tried to keep up for the first week or so (and did), but eventually there was too much to read every night, and with a couple exceptions, most articles are recycled or pointless to read now.

*** I have now read 23 of my 52 book goal for the year. I am 6 books ahead! (I was 5 book last month) 🙂 ***

 What I Watched

  • Kuroko’s Basketball – Until this season ends or the show, this will always be on the list (FAVORITE)
  • Daredevil – Only 3 episodes in but I like it! (4/5 Rating)
  • Food Wars! Shokugeki no SomaFOODGASMS. It’s about kid going to a cooking school, whose cooking is SO good that it causes people to have a foodgasm. LITERAL. FOODGASM.
  • Sons of AnarchySeason 7 is finally on Netflix! (Favorite)

Not much watching this moth. Yes, puppygate reading, but also baseball season now.

 Upcoming Reviews

Fullmetal Alchemist Vol 2, then the final two books of the Riyria Revelations, and I’ll have to pick out my Backlist Burndown.

Next Escapes?

I just started reading Railsea by China Mieviile, and then I had wanted to start another series (Dark Tower most likely), but the Hugo packet is supposed to be coming out the end of this month! Going throw a couple more stand alone in there, and then once the of packet is announced, I will start Ancillary Justice, and then tackle that packet!

Bonus!

I hit 3 milestones this month on the blog! (Only 1 was trophy case worthy for WordPress, apparently LOL)

Quick note: My blog has been up and running for 7 months now

  1. Apparently my blog reached 1,000+ views. Scrolled down the other week and noticed I was in 4-digits. That was cool.
  2. Just the other night, I got my 100th like!!! (Trophy)
  3. The one I am most happy (and surprised) about, is I hit 50 subscribers!!! 😀

I know these aren’t impressive numbers (and you should see my average views per day), but that’s not my main goal for this. I won’t get into this here (maybe I’ll post about it on a later date), but I basically created this blog because there were no sf/f fans around me that I could rant to about all the books I read. I don’t do any publicity for this blog – except I guess when I comment on other people’s blog after reading their post, and sometimes posting reviews on Goodreads; so it may have taken a while to get to these numbers (?), but to be completely honest, didn’t even expect that many after a year.

Don’t forget my Goodreads profile and Twitter account too!

I want to thank everyone who has taken time to read, LIKE, comment, SUBSCRIBE, share, or even just LOOK at anything on my blog 🙂

To my 50 subscribers though – you gals & guys – you are all ultra-awseome.

Have an excellent month of reading!

  1. Glad you enjoyed Edge of Dark! That one was pretty cool, and it’s too bad that it won’t get near the attention it deserves.

    • One of my favorite reads of the year so far!
Yeah, I didn’t hear much about the book coming out. Brenda had interview on Skiffy and Fanty, and besides for your review, I only saw one other for it – that’s it. Hopefully it will somehow pickup steam a little later on.

  2. Those numbers are totally impressive! Oh no Range of Ghosts only got a two? I am hoping to read that someday too.

    • You might like it. I didn’t think it was a bad novel at all – Bear does a great job at world building – but I just wasn’t into it. I think I may have just been in a reading funk. I am still going to give book 2 shot in the future though. See if things go better next time.

  3. Awesome! I hate to judge a book by its cover, but I just can’t bring myself to want to read Edge of Dark while looking at its cover. I just need to skip past it!

    • No, it’s okay. I think the cover is ugly too XD I actually won the book in a giveaway – which is how I came to reading it. Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t have read it – or at least bought it brand new.
I have to say though, it is one of the better books I have read this year!
