Head of Zeus – UK Cover; Cover art by Larry Rostant

I know this week’s cover is supposed to be a cover which features weapons, and The Grim Company series were one of the first books that came to mind when I thought of it cover to choose from, but I have to go give it to the armor! Look at the level of detail on the helmet! The shine! The shading! The blue and black tints on each side!

The warrior in furs and hides, swinging the sword in the snow is badass (no argument there), but the UK cover is too simple and powerful to ignore.

Which cover do you think is the best?

  1. I actually like the US cover! I know it’s the usual “guy with a sword” fantasy cover, but it’s more dynamic and I think in the end that’s what gives it the edge (no pun intended). Though the UK cover is indeed elegant in its simplicity.

I like the US cover too, I think because I’m not a fan of the “object” cover where one object gets the spotlight. People with swinging swords isn’t very original but I do like the gleam in the guy’s eye:-)

I’m with you on this. The armor on the UK cover is pretty cool.
