A wild book collecting post appears!!!
(And if you happened to be wondering how old this haul is, I got Brain’s and Charlie’s books during the tour for each of their’s books releases)
- The Last Mortal Bond (Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne #3) by Brian Staveley
So, I actually had this book when I went to Boskone the year that Richard Anderson was the Guest Artist of Honor, and I was able to get him to sign this along with several other books I have that he was the cover artist for. This was a weird case where I actually had a new release signed by the artist before the author Lol
One day, I make a post with all the book’s I have singed by cover artists. Some of them have cool sketches in that the authors did for me.
Oh! Got a photo with Brain as well 😀
- All the Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders
The Left Hand of God trilogy, is a series that I have been waining to read for a couple years now. I first discovered it on one of those top Grimdark lists, and later found out it ranked very high on many of these Grimdark lists.
The outlet store had had books 2 and 3 for a while, but never seemed to get the first in. Later last year though, there finally did! However, that was when it was 2 for $5, and I never actually planned one reading this as soon as I bought them, or picking them up for a sining, no are they all new hardcover releases – so at the time, $7.50 for the three seemed expensive (I’m being cheep, I know). But when I saw them this time, and being only a buck a piece, perfect time to add them to my collection 🙂
- The City Stained Red (Bring Down Heaven #1) by Sam Sykes
This one novel, however, was actually picked up in the used section of the store during my trip for Charlie’s author event. Why did I get this book? Simple: I was scanning the book shelf, and when I saw this cover, suddenly a voice in my head started yelling, “BUY MY BOOK!!!!” XD XD
Because this post is so old, I cannot find it anymore, but I tweet this out to Sam Sykes when I make this purchase and told him this, and replied and retweet me with something along the lines of, “A wise decisions was made today”. Either, Sam Sykes, very funny man! XD Look forward to finally reading, or at least interviewing him one day.
Read any of these books yet? Been to any author signings lately?
Let me know what’s good!

Can’t say I’ve read those, but I did meet Daniel Polansky and Nicholas Eames and get their books ‘Straight Razor Cure’ and Bloody Rose signed. Nothing beats a bit of signed book!

I LOVE getting signatures! Before I started school, I was going to author events basically every week. If it was within 1.5 hours drive of me, I was probably going Lol

I love that enthusiasm! I didn’t when growing up, I’m hours away from all the big cities where the authors do their thing. Going to start making up for lost time, though. Get a little ‘Signed shelf’ started on my book case.

I live about an hour outside of Boston, so I very fortunate in that regard. And I used about that when I went to them all the time, that if I lived in anywhere aside from Boston or California, authors events would be a very rare event
