Author Interview: Bailey Ordiway

Today I am interviewing Bailey Ordiway, author of the new murder, romance novel, Death Do Us Part.

DJ: Hi Bailey! Thanks for agreeing to do this interview!

For readers who aren’t familiar with you, could you tell us a little about yourself?

Bailey Ordiway: I always find that this is the hardest question to answer! Simply put I am happily married with a kid on the way. I am a very busy person with work, friends, and family, but I always make time for writing.

DJ: What is Death Do Us Part about?

Bailey: It is from the POV of a psychopath and follows him as he juggles his newfound romance and blood lust. That is a very simplified explanation, but I feel like anymore would ruin the fun of it.

DJ: What were some of your influences for Death Do Us Part?

Bailey: I have never actually read any romance, murder, thriller, or suspense books. I thought it would be interesting to write something that I was completely unfamiliar with. Maybe I would unknowingly put a spin on it that no one else does.

DJ: What was your favorite part about writing Death Do Us Part?

Bailey: It is a very adult-themed book. My first book was YA and my second wasn’t aimed at anyone in particular, but it wasn’t adult-themed. This one DEFINITELY is, and it was very fun to not hold back at all.

DJ: What do you think readers will be talking about most once they finish it?

Bailey: The ending. I can’t say more than that for obvious reasons.

DJ: Did you have a particular goal when you began writing Death Do Us Part? Was there a particular message or meaning you are hoping to get across when readers finish it? Or is there perhaps a certain theme to the story?

Bailey: Honestly? I wanted to write a story where the reader rooted for the main character even when they knew they shouldn’t. I wanted to keep their emotions flipping and make them question everything that happens.

DJ: Now that Death Do Us Part is released, what is next for you?

Bailey:  Another book! I had terrible writers block for the longest time. When I didn’t have writers block, I was too busy to write. Well I’m feeling great now and I have set aside time specifically to write. As for the book itself, I’m not too sure about that! I have something rough, but I’m just as excited to find out what it is as anyone else.

DJ: Where can readers find out more about you?

DJ: Before we go, what is that one thing you’d like readers to know about Death Do Us Part that we haven’t talked about yet?

Bailey: It gets pretty messed up in some parts. I know the readers can handle it, but I also want them to know that I’m a genuinely nice guy! Even though the book is messed up, if you see me in public feel free to have a nice conversation, I won’t bite.

DJ: Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to answer my questions!

About the Book:

Not all love stories are happy. Not all tragedies are sad. Not everyone is exactly how they seem, and not every story goes exactly how you would think.

For Mark, life was easy, and he was content… He had no way of knowing he was truly empty inside until he stumbled upon something that made him feel more alive than ever before. Once he felt that way, he could never go back.

A modern tale of love, sex, murder, and everything in between.
